The qualification is aimed at all persons who have contact with children or adults at risk and will provide them with a good understanding of safeguarding and the knowledge to identify possible safeguarding concerns and know-how and who to report these too.

KEY FACTS
The qualification has 4 assigned guided learning hours (GLH) and 5 hours total qualification time (TQT). GLH indicates the number of classroom contact hours that the learner will undertake. TQT includes GLH but also takes into account any unsupervised learning and is an estimate of how long the average learner will take to complete the qualification.
The minimum classroom contact time of 4 hours should be delivered over a minimum of half a day. The course can be spread over a maximum of 2 weeks, ensuring that each session is a minimum of two hours.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This qualification is available to those over 14 years.
ID REQUIREMENTS
Security operatives are likely in the course of their work to be required to make calls to the emergency services or need to communicate clearly to resolve conflict. It is therefore essential that security operatives are able to communicate clearly.
- valid passport (any nationality);
- signed UK photo card driving license;
- valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police;
- Other photographic ID card, e.g. valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police and employee ID card, student ID card, travel card. In the event that a learner is unable to produce any of the forms of photographic identification listed above, a Centre may accept another form of identity containing a signature, for example a credit card or a third-party representative, such as a Line Manager, Human Resources Manager or invigilator, will be accepted.
