Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification with CSCS Card is designed for individuals who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of health and safety in a construction or fencing environment, enabling them to work effectively and efficiently in the workplace.
This qualification has been developed to give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the employee’s and employer’s health and safety responsibilities and site safety awareness in the construction and fencing industries.
This qualification aims to assess your knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
• Principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work
• Importance to safe manual handling in the workplace
• Importance of working safely at height in the workplace
• Risks to health within a construction environment
• Importance of working around plant and equipment safely.
The assessment will consist of a multiple-choice question assessment taken online at the end of the days training
This qualification will allow you to apply for a CSCS card in order to gain access to a construction site to undertake construction activities, including a labourer green FISS/CSCS card.

Other photographic ID card, e.g. valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police and employee ID card, student ID card, travel card. In the event that a learner is unable to produce any of the forms of photographic identification listed above, a Centre may accept another form of identity containing a signature, for example a credit card or a third-party representative, such as a Line Manager, Human Resources Manager or invigilator, will be accepted.
